When you brew tea, you drink the liquid and discard the leaves. And although that cup of tea might deliver great taste, aroma and wellness benefits, the fact is that a good portion of the active polyphenol content is left behind in the leaves.
Matcha is different. When you brew a cup of matcha, you actually consume all of the tea leaves. Because of this, scientific testing in Japan has shown that the antioxidant content of matcha can be up to 10 times greater then with conventionally brewed tea. That explains why it has been said in Japan that green matcha tea is the healthiest natural beverage in the world!†
That’s impressive, but we’ve taken it a step further. For our White Matcha, we have selected a high altitude white tea from the lush green Nandi Highlands of equatorial Kenya. White tea is made from the youngest leaves and buds, and it has even more polyphenols than green tea! Our tea plants grow slower at high altitude, which gives them time to develop more complex flavors and aromas, as well as some of the highest antioxidant levels ever recorded for any substance – and nearly 3 times the amount found in premium Japanese green matcha tea! When it comes to polyphenol power, L’dara’s White Matcha is unmatched! †
Our White Matcha is also unique because of the way it is produced. The young leaves and buds are plucked, minimally processed and carefully ground – using a traditional stone mill – to an exceptionally smooth micro-fine powder. Because White Matcha is made from the entire tea leaf, it contains all of the nutrients found in the leaf. That includes significantly higher levels of L-theanine than are traditionally found in green matcha. L-theanine is an amino acid that is linked to increased alpha brain wave production for a relaxed feeling of mental alertness. †
When whisked with hot water, White Matcha is transformed into a thick and rich brew with wonderfully warm mossy notes of grass and slight floral undertones of oolong. It’s a perfect choice for anyone looking for a uniquely aromatic and taste-pleasing brew with exceptional health benefits. †
